Before You Apply
General Advice From Grat
Before you decide to apply for a staff position, take the time to think about whether it feels like something you want to do or something that you feel like you have to do. Many players may see becoming a staff member as the ultimate goal, but I will be the first to tell you that they have the wrong idea. When you step into the role of a staff member, your entire perspective on the community changes. As a staff member, you're no longer solely focused on enjoying the game or interacting with other players. Instead, you take on the responsibility of resolving conflicts and upholding the server's rules. You may even lose a couple of friends when you become staff as you may need to punish them in the future. This position is not compensated, and you will be volunteering your time. As I just said, being a staff member often requires a considerable time commitment. You'll need to be available to address issues, resolve conflicts, and everything in between. This is not a role that should be taken lightly. Before you make the decision to submit that application, really consider whether or not you're prepared for the shift in perspective and the added responsibilities you will get. While being a staff member might seem like a rewarding experience, it's important to have the right mindset. It's also equally important to understand the change in your overall experience on the server.

- Everyone starts out as a trainee. A trainee is someone who is in training. While being a trainee, you will not have access to tickets and your permissions will be limited. This is your time to show your skills instead of tell your skills. You can see more detail of what a trainee's responsibilities are here.
